SEATTLE, Washington – Seattle Police Department officials are searching for a suspect in connection with a shooting. Specifically, the shooting happened on Wednesday.
Additionally, the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. in the Northern Seattle area. Officials responded to calls reporting a shooting in the 300 block of North 125th Street. Furthermore, they are searching the Crown Hill neighborhood area for the suspect.
The Seattle Police Department is asking people in this area to stay indoors if possible. Specifically, they are searching the 1900 block of Northwest 89th street.
Police stated around 4:45 p.m., “Officers will continue to be in the area as they investigate, but are winding down their search. If you see anything suspicious please call 911.”
Patrick Michaud of the Seattle Police Department said police officers and medics responded to the scene shortly after receiving a report of shots fired.
There, officials found the victim. Furthermore, Michaud reported the victim was a man in his 30’s. Notably, the victim had sustained a single gunshot wound in the head.
Currently, officials have not identified the victim. Medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center. He is currently listed as being in critical condition.
One witness named Emry Martin gave a detailed account of the incident. “I’m a native of Seattle, and I’m still processing this…it’s scary because it’s so close. It’s scary because this is the world that we live in. And I don’t know what the answers are to be in a safe neighborhood. I don’t know all the answers. I won’t pretend like I do. But we deserve to be living in a safe community”.
Furthermore, an additional witness named Tia Gibson added, “I would expect it to happen a little more down on Aurora. It’s usually a little better here, but it’s migrating”.
